THE PROBLEM:
Emerald Ash Borer (EAB)
In 2002 the Emerald Ash Borer (Agrilus planipennis) was found in Detroit, Michigan and has been spreading out ever since. This small beetle is native to Asia and is an invasive species. Over 250,000,000 of ash trees have been killed because of this non-native insect. The larva feed below the bark disrupting the water and nutrient flow of the tree. With no water or nutrients the tree dies. When the tree dies, the beetles fly to other ash trees to infest and kill them too.

What Is the Emerald Ash Borer?
The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is a shiny green beetle that attacks ash trees. It came from Asia and has spread across many states, killing millions of trees. The beetle lays eggs on the bark, and when the eggs hatch, the tiny larvae burrow under the bark and feed on the tree. This causes serious damage and can kill a tree within a few years.
This beetle is sometimes called the Ash Tree Beetle or just the Ash Borer. No matter what name you use, it is very harmful to ash trees.

How We Treat Ash Trees
We use a safe and effective method called tree injection. This means we inject medicine directly into the tree’s trunk. This method sends the treatment through the tree’s system to kill the beetles and protect the tree from new attacks.

Our team uses a product called emamectin benzoate. It is a special pesticide that targets the Ash Tree Borer but does not harm people, pets, or helpful insects when used correctly. This treatment has been tested and works very well.
We are licensed pesticide applicators, which means we are trained and allowed to use this kind of treatment. You can trust us to treat your trees safely and correctly.

Why Tree Injection Is Best
There are different ways to treat trees, like spraying the leaves or putting pesticides in the soil. But tree injection is better because:
-
It goes straight to the problem
-
It lasts longer (up to 2-3 years)
-
It won’t wash away in rain
-
It protects the whole tree
This is the best way to fight the Ash Tree Beetle and stop it from killing your trees.
How Much Does Ash Tree Treatment Cost?

Ash Tree Treatment Cost can vary. It depends on how big your tree is and how many trees need help. But remember, saving a tree costs much less than removing a dead one. Cutting down a large tree and removing the stump can cost thousands of dollars.

We offer fair prices and free estimates. We’ll come look at your trees and tell you exactly what the treatment will cost. That way, you can make the best choice for your yard and your budget.
When Should You Get Ash Tree Treatment?
Don’t wait until your tree is almost dead. Ash Tree Treatment for Emerald Ash Borer works best when the tree is still healthy or just starting to show signs of trouble.

Spring and early summer are the best times to treat trees, but we can treat trees in other seasons too. The sooner we treat, the more likely we can save the tree.

Do All Ash Trees Need Treatment?
If you have ash trees in your yard or around your home, it’s a good idea to have them checked. Even if they look healthy, they could still be at risk.

The Emerald Ash Borer spreads fast. Trees near your home could already be infested. A check-up and treatment can save you time, money, and heartache down the road.

What Happens If You Do Nothing?
If you ignore the problem, your ash tree will likely die. The Ash Borer Beetle can kill a tree in 2-4 years. Dead trees are not only ugly, but they can be dangerous. They can fall during storms and damage homes, cars, or even hurt people.

Also, a sick tree can spread the bugs to other trees in your area. Treating one tree can help protect many others.

About Us
While we may be new your community, we are not new to Emerald Ash Borer. We've lived through the passing through of Emerald Ash Borer in Columbus, OH in the late 2000's. We moved to Minneapolis, MN and again have been living through it again.

We know what is coming. It is like watching a very slow giant unrelenting title wave that is coming. You see it coming and you can tell everyone and some are reacting, other are not.

Having lived through it, I was waiting for some unmistakable sign to let me know, I personally needed to take action. I had sales guys knock my door and there was a disconnect between..."Treat your Tree" and the voice in my head..."I'm an arrogant field biologist, the tree looks fine!"

We have started the Save Our Street Program to help get the message out in a way that is more effective in getting the word out and helping home owners want to take action. Contact us about starting the program in your area.
